Fish Tales –
Granaries of Memory
Fascinating stories, an intimate atmosphere, delicious things to taste and good wine to drink. That’s what to expect from Fish Tales, informal conversations with historic names from the world of fish and fishing: restaurateurs, producers and fishermen, their lives governed by the need to protect the marine environment and maintain traditions.
Georgios Zoidis, 16 years old and Stavros Kontos, 64, are among the protagonists of Fish Tales 2011. Georgios belongs to the third generation of a family of small-scale fishers who still employ the use of traditional fishing vessels in their daily activity. Stavros is 64, carrier of the unique traditional knowledge of the old people of Alexandroupolis, a coastal town whose identity is closely bound to the sea.
